By Rey Post
Associate Broker, Sotheby’s International Realty
Host of the “All Things Real Estate” Radio Show
September 18, 2022
The “All Things Real Estate radio show airs this Sunday, September 18 (12-2pm Mountain Time) on Santa Fe’s Talk 1260 AM KTRC and 103.7-FM, and streams on SantaFe.com, as well as via the “Listen Now” link at ATREradio.com.
This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby’s International Realty’s Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660), as well as a variety of special guests who offer news, information, and commentary on current real estate, business, and community issues, important to homeowners, buyers, and sellers.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guest Stephen Etre, owner of Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery, for a discussion of changes in real estate, as well as community and business issues, as we approach the first day of the Fall season.
This Sunday is just a few days before we mark the Autumnal Equinox, an astronomical event that marks the start of the Fall. During an equinox, the Sun crosses what we call the “celestial equator”—an imaginary extension of Earth’s equator line into space. The equinox occurs precisely when the Sun’s center passes through this line. After the autumnal equinox, days become shorter than nights as the Sun continues to rise later and nightfall arrives earlier.
Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery Review:
Rey and Stephen will discuss changes at the gallery as we approach the autumn, including the addition of new inventory that arrives this time of the year. Stephen will also preview the gallery’s “Fall Sale,” which is booked for mid-October. Each day, consumers from across New Mexico take advantage of the gallery’s more than 14,000 square feet of display space, providing a wide variety of unique items, including furniture, antiques, art, estate items, jewelry, and home accessories. For nearly four decades, the gallery has become a popular destination for not only those who own, buy, or sell homes, but also all of those who practice real estate as a trade. Rey and Stephen’s conversation will also update the audience on the gallery’s upcoming estate sales, and also touch on the gallery’s proud tradition of “giving back” to Santa Fe, including its support of local charities, as well as cultural and educational organizations. This is reflected in the gallery team’s deep commitment to building local, and sustainable community relationships. Stephen is one of ATRE’s long-time corporate supporters, as well as being a trusted commentator on the radio show each month.
Rey’s “Real Estate Recommendation”:
Rey’s weekly real estate recommendation offers information on a variety of timely home buying and selling, community and business issues that impact the lives and work of consumers and real estate professionals. Rey’s commentary will include observations on the element of broker teamwork, and the professional assistance the marketing and administrative staff at the Santa Fe office of Sotheby’s International Realty bring to their interaction with the company’s brokers and clients.
Broker Reflections and Property of the Week:
Rey will review the attributes of 1057 Camino Manana with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Lois Sury. Regarding Lois’ listing—This spacious classic adobe home built in 1937 on three acres by acclaimed artist and weaver Roger Cheney perches on the top of a ridge with views of the Sangre de Cristo and the Sandia mountains. On three acres just minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza, two successive owners have added a private master suite addition and upgrades to the kitchen and baths, as well as air-conditioning. Elegant large rooms are a hallmark of this stunning home with vigas and corbels, six kiva fireplaces, an updated gourmet kitchen, wood, tile, and carpet flooring. The public rooms include a traditional formal large dining room and step-down living room, both with large windows, wood floors, high ceilings, fireplaces, and exterior doors. Featuring three ensuite bedrooms plus a fourth bedroom or media room, this home offers a flexible floor plan. The large private master suite has its own kiva fireplace and has two ensuite baths as well as an adjacent room perfect for a study/nursery or exercise. Two bricked patios with walled gardens and water features make outdoor dining a pleasure. Two gated yards are suitable for children and pets to play in. Storage is abundant with walk-in and California closets and extensive bathroom and kitchen cabinets. A separate two-car garage offers more storage, and a hot tub allows relaxation for tired skiers and hikers. View the virtual tour and schedule a private showing today!

Continuing the first hour theme, Rey and Drew will highlight the changes in the home buying and selling environment, as we approach the first day of the Fall season.
In their conversation, Rey and Drew will talk about the efforts of the company’s brokers, the listings they offer to home buyers, and the important role that the brokerage plays in furthering the economy of the city and the state.
Assuming his role—in January 2022—as Vice President and Brokerage Manager, Drew is leading more than 100 brokers affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty, in its three offices in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
