By Rey Post
Associate Broker, Sotheby’s International Realty
Host of the “All Things Real Estate” Radio Show
December 6, 2020
The “All Things Real Estate radio show airs this Sunday, December 6 (12-2pm Mountain Time) on Santa Fe’s Talk 1260 AM KTRC and 103.7-FM, and streams on SantaFe.com, as well as via the “Listen Now” link at ATREradio.com.
This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby’s International Realty’s Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660), as well as variety of special guests who offer news, information and commentary on current real estate, business, and community issues, important to homeowners, buyers and sellers.
The “All Things Real Estate” (ATRE) radio show meets the standards established by the New Mexico Department of Health as an “essential business” (radio/media services), as defined in the state’s March 23, 2020, and November 13, 2020, public health emergency orders relating to the presence of coronavirus. As such, ATRE is committed to bringing timely and informative content to the public from some of the nation’s best business, non-profit, community, and real estate leaders. The guest commentators on this week’s show are emblematic of the quality of professionals who have helped to make ATRE a destination that people from all over the country turn to each Sunday.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guest co-host Stephen Etre, owner of Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery, and their guests for a St. Nicholas Day-inspired discussion of real estate, community, and holiday issues.
December 6th is St. Nicholas Day, which is derived from Nicholas of Myra, who was a bishop in 4th century Greece. He was known for selling off his own items and then giving the money to the poor. He would commonly leave coins in people’s shoes and dedicated his entire life to serving people who were sick and suffering. The creation of the legend of Santa Claus can be traced back to St. Nicholas.
Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery Review:
In the spirit of the story and actions of St. Nicholas, Rey and Stephen Etre will discuss not only the value of Stephen’s, A Consignment Gallery as a great destination for holiday gift buying but also the fact that the gallery–as part of the Santa Fe community for nearly 40 years–has a proud tradition of “giving back” to Santa Fe, including the support of local charities, as well as cultural and educational organizations. In response to the current state-mandated health order due to coronavirus, the gallery is offering a safe and socially-distanced “private shopping” experience to consumers during the holidays (go here to make your own appointment). Stephen’s gallery brings more than 14,000 square feet of gallery display space, providing a wide variety of unique items, including furniture, antiques, art, estate items, jewelry, and home accessories. The team at the gallery has a deep commitment to building local, and sustainable community relationships. For more than eleven years, Stephen’s gallery has served as one of the major corporate supporters of ATRE and has committed to returning to this role in 2021.
Lucky Dog Hi-Fi & Technology Solutions Report:
Danny Muller, co-owner of Lucky Dog Hi-Fi & Technology Solutions, will offer his thoughts on the show’s St. Nicholas theme, especially as his company is offering a new retail location that can be a destination for holiday gift-buying. Danny and his colleagues bring not only experience in offering a range of hi-fi products and services to their clients, but also entertainment-related knowledge working for, or owning record stores, night clubs, production companies, and recording studios. Danny will also update the audience about the ways that his company operates safely for its clients, in the ongoing coronavirus environment. Danny will share information on how he and his business partner, Truewill Mashburn, specialize in providing residential and commercial custom technology solutions to their clients. The different backgrounds of the Lucky Dog team contribute to a unique end result: their ability to customize their clients’ home for audio, A/V, home automation, networking, and home lighting based on their particular specifications and circumstances. They understand how architecture, design, engineering, acoustics, and technology can all work together to craft a certain outcome. Since January, Danny and Truewill have served as ATRE corporate supporters and show commentators, offering information on how their firm brings custom technology solutions to homes and businesses. They will be returning to ATRE in 2021 in their commentator roles.
Rey’s “Real Estate Recommendation”:
Rey’s weekly real estate recommendation will offer information on the ongoing efforts of Sotheby’s International Realty to address the needs of home buyers and sellers, as the coronavirus situation continues. Rey will also share some thoughts on an ongoing element of teamwork, that he and all of his broker colleagues subscribe to. Specifically, that the marketing and administrative staff at the Santa Fe office of Sotheby’s International Realty are offering an even greater level of professional assistance to the company’s brokers and clients, during this exceptionally challenging period of time.
Broker Reflections and Property of the Week
Rey will review the attributes of the listings offered to home buyers by his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleagues. Rey will also remind the audience on how the company is offering safe and secure processes for all home buyer and seller clients, as we all continue to deal with the impact of coronavirus in our lives, and work.
In the second hour of the show, join Rey for two very special interview segments.
Preview of “The Kaye & Lee Show”
Joining Rey for the first half of the program, are his Sotheby’s International Realty Associate Broker colleagues Kaye Theimer and Lee Bowers, who are known by their clients as Santa Fe lifestyle real estate specialists. Starting in January 2021, “The Kaye & Lee Show” will offer news, information, and interviews on Santa Fe culture and style, that will be offered during the first Sunday of each month that the ATRE program airs (1-2 pm Mountain Time). This Sunday, Rey will discuss with Kaye and Lee their approach to hosting this new one-hour broadcast, including the experiences and talents that they bring to their real estate business. Kaye, is a Ph.D. child psychologist, a former professor at the University of Tulsa and the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a professional operating a private practice. Her people skills are her strength and passion. She is a strong listener, thinker, and communicator. This translates into being a compassionate woman. These skills are instrumental to address and solve the challenges of the real estate adventure. She has owned a home in Santa Fe for thirty years and has lived in the city full-time for the last three. She and her former husband developed resort properties all across the country from Beaver Creek/Vail Colorado, Montecito, California to Charleston, South Carolina. Lee brings her knowledge of the Santa Fe home market, and as a lifelong professional artist and designer, she has the creative eye to locate the perfect dream home for her clients. Her 25 plus years in business gives her the skills and talent to negotiate with confidence and integrity for the best experience for home buyers and sellers. She appreciates her discriminating clientele and provides them with exceptional personal service.
Paul Weideman Shares His Editor & Writer Experiences
For 23 years, Paul Weideman has worked for the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper, serving as Editor of the monthly Home/Santa Fe Real Estate Guide magazine, as well as a staff writer on Pasatiempo, the paper’s weekly arts magazine. On Sunday, Rey will explore Paul’s 35 years in journalism, including the November 2019 publication of his book ARCHITECTURE Santa Fe: A Guidebook. The 242-page book includes a short, illustrated history and then detail photos and captions for 114 of the city’s architectural resources. Over the years, Paul’s Home magazine entries have won four times in the National Association of Real Estate Editors’ annual journalism awards, for “Best Newspaper Real Estate or Home Section.” An important factor in the awards was the fact that the magazine has all local content. Besides Paul’s stories, there have been up to a dozen columns every month that are written by Santa Fe people, covering real estate and mortgage matters, as well as interior design, gardening, feng shui, water conservation, and architecture. Paul’s grasp of the Santa Fe real-estate scene is especially told by one aspect of his career with the magazine: From March 1999 to December 2020, he has interviewed 176 local brokers for his Realtor Profile series. Paul, who was born in Indianapolis and has lived in New Mexico since 1992, has won numerous other awards during his more than three decades in journalism.
ATRE Marked 11 Years Of Airing On June 7, 2020
On June 7, 2009, the inaugural broadcast of the ATRE program was aired. Since then, the show has aired on 550+ occasions mostly in a two-hour format with more than 2,500 guest commentators coming from Santa Fe and national real estate, business, governmental, entertainment, and community organizations. Though Rey created the show, and has hosted just about every 1st hour (and many of the 2nd hour broadcasts), a number of professionals have served as special guest hosts for many of the 2nd hour broadcasts of the show. Rey is honored that ATRE has been embraced by the listening audience, with people in Santa Fe, throughout New Mexico, and across the country selecting the show as a destination each Sunday. He is also very appreciative for the program’s corporate supporters, broadcast professionals at Hutton Broadcasting, and the marketing team at Sotheby’s International Realty, for all that they have done to make the show a success.
