THIS SUNDAY, JOIN REY POST, HOST OF THE ALL THINGS REAL ESTATE RADIO SHOW, AS HE AND HIS SPECIAL GUEST SHARE A “BEHIND THE SCENES” REVIEW OF DESIGNING AND DELIVERING A LIVE RADIO PROGRAM TO THE PUBLIC. REY’S GUEST IS RICHARD EEDS, PROGRAM DIRECTOR, AND HOST OF HIS OWN RADIO SHOW AIRING ON HUTTON BROADCASTING’S KTRC.

By Rey Post
Associate Broker, Sotheby’s International Realty
Host of the “All Things Real Estate” Radio Show
October 23, 2022

The “All Things Real Estate radio show airs this Sunday, October 23 (12-2pm Mountain Time) on Santa Fe’s Talk 1260 AM KTRC and 103.7-FM, and streams on SantaFe.com, as well as via the “Listen Now” link at ATREradio.com.

This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby’s International Realty’s Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660), as well as a variety of special guests who offer news, information, and commentary on current real estate, business, and community issues, important to homeowners, buyers, and sellers.

In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guest Richard Eeds—Program Director for Talk 1260 & 103.7 KTRC, Hutton Broadcasting’s progressive talk radio station in Santa Fe —for a discussion of the elements of hosting and presenting a live radio show. The conversation is inspired by the commemoration of the birth of a famous talk show host. Richard is also the host of his own weekday afternoon talk show, The Richard Eeds Show. Like Richard’s radio program, Rey’s ATRE radio show also airs on the KTRC stations, and streams on SantaFe.com.

This Sunday is T.V. Talk Show Host Day, named in memory of the king of late-night television, Johnny Carson, born on October 23, 1925. For 30 years (1962-1992), Johnny Carson was an integral part of our lives. His crisp monologues, non-partisan political satire, self-deprecating jokes, and a sensitive style of questioning kept us glued to our screens from Monday to Friday. Carson set the standard for all talk show hosts to try and emulate.

Rey is borrowing this tribute to Johnny Carson, as the theme for the first hour of the ATRE show. Acknowledging all the preparation that was part of Carson’s T.V. show, Rey and Richard will offer a “behind the scenes” overview of the elements associated with developing and delivering a live radio talk show (e.g., research on topics; lining up guests; use of music to underscore show themes; scripting; etc.).

Prior to assuming his role with Hutton Broadcasting—and for almost a dozen years—Richard was on 770 KKOB Radio in Albuquerque and also hosted a jazz show on KUNM for about a decade. Farmington, New Mexico was Richard’s home until he was 16 years old, then making California his home, until he returned to his beloved home state of New Mexico.

Rey’s “Real Estate Recommendation”:

Rey’s weekly real estate recommendation offers information on a variety of timely home buying and selling, community and business issues that impact the lives and work of consumers and real estate professionals. Rey’s commentary will include observations on the element of broker teamwork, and the professional assistance the marketing and administrative staff at the Santa Fe office of Sotheby’s International Realty bring to their interaction with the company’s brokers and clients.

Broker Reflections and Property of the Week:

Rey and his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Darlene Streit, will speak to the qualities of 421 Tano Road, A+B. Regarding Darlene’s listing—Enjoy the wide-open vistas of Santa Fe from this outstanding 90-acre, gated, estate property. Properties of this size, only 20 minutes from town, are few and far between. The main house is situated to take advantage of Sangre, Jemez, and Badlands views. Enter through the bright and airy floorplan that takes advantage of views in all directions. The generously sized kitchen is bright and has plenty of space for gathering and making those special meals. The main bedroom suite is generously sized with a seating area and fireplace for those cozy retreats. The other bedrooms are nicely separated and generously sized with en-suite baths. The attached 3-car garage is oversized with plenty of additional space for hobbies or storage. The guest house and barn are a short distance away. The barn can be reconfigured to suit your needs and has a heated tack room, hay storage, and plenty of space. The attached and oversized 2-car garage separates the barn from the guest house. And the guest house, built in 2006, features an open floorplan living space with high ceilings and a great fireplace for gathering. Two bedrooms, a full bath, and laundry complete the space. Enjoy great walking and hiking in all directions on this peaceful and private property.

In the second hour of the show, join Scott Robinson, the Area Sales Manager for Union Home Mortgage , NMLS 202265, as he hosts his quarterly broadcast featuring guests offering commentary on a variety of mortgage issues, important to home buyers who use a lender in the process of purchasing a home. Scott will offer a review of the state of the mortgage market in October, as well as useful tips that can benefit consumers, whether they are first-time home buyers, experienced home owners, or are seeking a second-home investment property. Joining Scott in the conversation will be one of his colleagues at Union Home Mortgage. In a separate phone conversation, Scott will also speak with one of the mortgage clients of Union Home Mortgage in the “Raving Fan” segment of the show.

Scott will also take the opportunity to advise the audience why getting a home loan shouldn’t be complicated. He will illustrate how Union Home Mortgage puts consumers first, using a simple, convenient mortgage process, that delivers on the promise of home. Scott will share why Union Home Mortgage is known for its world-class service, personalized loans, and unwavering support, making them the hometown lender for consumers. Union Home Mortgage Corporation is an equal housing lender. NMLS 2229. Scott and his team are long-time content providers on the ATRE radio show, and are hosting their second-hour broadcasts each quarter in 2022.

ATRE Marks 13 Years Of Airing On June 5, 2022

ATRE began airing in June 2009, with the show broadcasting on more than 700 occasions, as it marks 13 years of airing on Sunday, June 5th. Mostly in a two-hour format, the show has engaged in conversations with more than 3,000 guest commentators coming from Santa Fe and national real estate, business, governmental, entertainment, and community organizations. Though Rey created the show and has hosted just about every 1st hour (and many of the 2nd-hour broadcasts), a number of professionals have served as special guest hosts for many of the 2nd-hour broadcasts of the show. Rey is honored that ATRE has been embraced by the listening audience, with people in Santa Fe, throughout New Mexico, and across the country selecting the show as a destination each Sunday. He is also very appreciative of the program’s corporate supporters, broadcast professionals at Hutton Broadcasting, and the marketing team and fellow associate brokers at Sotheby’s International Realty, for all that they have done to make the show a success. Here is a link to a press release, marking the 13-year anniversary of the program in June 2022.
