Host of the “All Things Real Estate” Radio Show
May 18 & 19, 2024
The “All Things Real Estate radio show airs this Saturday, May 18 (3pm Mountain Time) and Sunday, May 19 (12pm Mountain Time) on Santa Fe’s Talk 1260 AM KTRC and 103.7-FM, and streams on SantaFe.com, as well as via the “Listen Now” link at ATREradio.com.
Each month, the program features its main host and Sotheby’s International Realty Associate Broker—Rey Post , or other real estate professionals who also host their own version of the program. Since 2009, the show’s hosts—joined each week by a variety of guest commentators—have made ATRE a favorite weekend destination for listeners from all over the country.
On the show airing this Saturday and Sunday, join Ron Blessey, Senior Loan Officer with Santa Fe Mortgage, hosts his monthly mortgage show. He and his guests will discuss a variety of current real estate, home construction, investment and mortgage topics important to home owners, buyers and sellers.
Joining Ron during this broadcast, is regular show commentator Kevin Skelly, Graduate Master Builder and the principal at home construction firm KM Skelly, Inc.
Also joining Ron in the conversation is Peter Murphy, CFP, the principal at Financial Partners, a Santa Fe financial planning and advisory firm. Peter and his colleagues offer an extensive array of planning services under the umbrella of Comprehensive Financial Planning. From envisioning the stages of retirement to optimizing investment choices, aligning Social Security and Medicare plans, strategizing tax-efficient distributions, and safeguarding legacies through estate planning.
Ron will also interview Sotheby’s International Realty associate brokers Caroline D. Russell and Jeffrey R. Thomas, who will speak to the state of the real estate market. Included in this conversation will be Caroline and Jeffrey’s observations on home buyer activity, listing prices and other current real estate issues impacting their professional activities. They will also share information on one of the homes they are offering for sale.
Ron Blessey Mortgage Update
Ron is a well-established loan officer in the Santa Fe real estate market, having offered counsel to home buyers for the last 27 years. Bringing this experience to his monthly radio show, Ron offers the listeners the latest news on not only lender issues, but also his thoughts on the state of the real estate market, as we go through mid-May.
Ron is well-known for his ability to provide residential mortgage products to a wide array of buyers, whether they are purchasing a primary, or secondary home. Ron is also very knowledgeable in the elements of the loan process for investor buyers, who are purchasing rental properties. He is also well versed in construction lending, based on his years of experience in this part of the real estate transaction process. In 2015-2016, Ron was President of the New Mexico Association of Mortgage Professionals. He joined Lance Armer at Santa Fe Mortgage effective March 24, 2023, which brought Ron back to the mortgage broker world. This business collaboration, gives Ron more control of the loan process, as he utilizes and has access to a variety of lenders, gained through his years of mortgage experience. In 2024, Ron hosts his mortgage-related program on the third weekend that the ATRE show airs.
Home Builder Review:
As the regular monthly contributor on Ron’s radio show—Kevin will reflect on a variety of home building design, construction, and renovation activities that are happening in May 2024. Kevin will also review the important elements that consumers should give attention to, as they develop their own plans for home construction, or remodeling. And Ron will ask Kevin to update the listeners on some of his current home building and remodeling projects. From concept to construction, Kevin and his team are well-known for applying a comprehensive approach in the process of achieving a consumer’s vision for building, or remodeling a home. More Housing, Faster:
Developers working to bring large affordable housing projects online face many hurdles, including a permitting process that can be costly if delayed. To help keep important housing and commercial projects moving, the City of Santa Fe Land Use Department has announced a pilot partnership with SAFEbuilt to offer developers, builders, and architects an option to expedite permitting with certified third-party plan reviews. This option, available for a 20% surcharge, will increase staff capacity, permitting efficiency and transparency on all projects—speeding up community investment, job creation, and new housing inventory. Wildfire Prevention & Fire Proofing
Ned Jacobs of the Quezada Jacobs Family Allstate Insurance Agency, LLC offers some useful information about how to protect your home and property from wildfires through fire proofing your home, wildfire prevention, and wildfire safety. And on the heels of a highly successful May 13th panel discussion about wildfires that Ned and others offered to the public, he is now collaborating with the Santa Fe Association of Realtors on another wildfire panel discussion on June 13th, to be staged at the association’s offices. This will be a luncheon meeting, featuring—among others—two city of Santa Fe firefighter administrators, as well as two insurance agents.
ATRE Marks 15 Years Of Airing On June 6th & 7th, 2024
ATRE began airing in June 2009, with the show broadcasting on more than 850 occasions, when it marks its 15 years of airing in June 2024. The show has offered commentary from more than 3,500 guests, who represent Santa Fe and national real estate, business, governmental, entertainment, and community organizations. Besides airing every Saturday and Sunday on two Santa Fe, NM radio stations—and streaming globally on SantaFe.com—ATRE is now offered via a professionally produced podcast, fashioned by one of the best podcast studios in the country. Rey is honored that ATRE has been embraced by the listening audience, with people in Santa Fe, throughout New Mexico, and across the country selecting the show as a destination each weekend. He is also very appreciative of the program’s corporate supporters, the broadcast professionals at Hutton Broadcasting, and the marketing team and fellow associate brokers at Sotheby’s International Realty, for all that they have done to make the show a success. Giving Back to the Community
Since 2009, the “All Things Real Estate” (ATRE) radio show has offered air time to a variety of Santa Fe non-profit and community organizations. Representatives from organizations are able to use the ATRE program to share news and information with northern New Mexico residents about their services and activities. Over the years, some of the highly-regarded non-profit organizations featured on the ATRE program are: —New Story; Native Treasures Art Market; Cornerstones Community Partnerships; Think New Mexico; Las Campanas Compadres; the Santa Fe Concorso; Kitchen Angels; Creative Santa Fe; Dollars4Schools; and Youthworks. Senior Officers of the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, have also served as commentators on the program. In addition, Santa Fe Mayor Alan Webber who has offered commentary on the show since first elected in 2018—speaks to the programs, events and community activities important to the residents of the city. In 2019, the Town of Taos collaborated with ATRE, in a year-long information series—sponsored by the Taos Ski Valley—called “This Is Taos.” Designed to offer useful information about this historic northern New Mexico community, the monthly show earned high marks from the public. Among the companies and non-profit organizations joining in supporting this monthly show series were: Taos Mesa Brewing; the Taos Center for the Arts; the Taos Arts Council; the Taos Gallery Association; the Taos Opera Institute; as well as Taos Behavioral Health, the Strong at Heart, and Taos MainStreet Accelerator projects.
