Each month, the program features its main host and Sotheby’s International Realty Associate Broker—Rey Post , or other real estate professionals who also host their own version of the program. Since 2009, the show’s hosts—joined each week by a variety of guest commentators—have made ATRE a favorite weekend destination for listeners from all over the country.

On the show airing this Saturday and Sunday, join Rey and his special guests—John Grisak, owner of three roof restoration companies (including Fix My Roof, LLC), and Kevin Skelly, Graduate Master Builder and the principal at K.M. Skelly, Inc.—for a conversation about real estate and business issues, inspired by the start of the New Year.

As the symbolism blog Edenbengals.com tells us, the celebration of the New Year is a tradition that can be linked to the early civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Babylon. For these ancient civilizations, the New Year was a time of renewal, reflection, and celebration.

Regardless of the date or the culture, the New Year represents a time of new beginnings, hope, and optimism. It is a time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the future. Whether it’s setting new goals, making resolutions, or simply spending time with family and friends, the New Year is a time to celebrate life and all its possibilities.

Applying this concept to our day-to-day practices, Rey, John, and Kevin will offer their thoughts on the 2024 real estate and business events that resonated with them, and also offer some thoughts on what to expect with home owning, buying, selling and building in 2025.

2025 Roof Restoration Maintenance Update:

John Grisak will speak to the show’s theme, and also summarize the efforts of his teams in their residential and commercial roof restoration efforts, as we begin January 2025. John will also review the services offered by the three companies he owns: Fix My Roof, LLC, Fiddler Roofing NM, and Zia Insulated Foam Roofing, as well as the home and commercial construction services offered by Forsite Construction, LLC.

Fix My Roof, LLC, is committed to restoring existing roofs for a fraction of the cost of roof replacement while maximizing a positive impact on the environment by embracing environmentally responsible practices and educating the greater community about environmental stewardship.

Headquartered in Santa Fe, the roof restoration companies owned by John Grisak, are well-known for serving their residential and commercial customers in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, El Dorado, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Cochiti, Las Cruces, Alamogordo, Silver City, and many more locations. Fix My Roof, LLC is not only a long-time supporter of ATRE, but its professionals are also some of the radio program’s most trusted content providers.

Home Builder Review:

As the other regular monthly contributor on the first weekend broadcast of the ATRE show throughout 2025, Kevin will discuss the state of home building in the Santa Fe area, as well as nationally. Kevin will also reflect on a variety of home building design, construction, and renovation activities that are happening in January. Kevin will also point to the important elements that consumers should give attention to, as they develop their own plans for home construction, or remodeling.

From concept to construction, Kevin and his team are well-known for applying a comprehensive approach in the process of achieving a consumer’s vision for building, or remodeling a home. Kevin’s firm offers services to consumers not only in Northern New Mexico, but also in various regions in Colorado, where he has a track record of successful home construction. K.M. Skelly, Inc., has perfected a strategy that concentrates on customer service and quality products by giving attention to the details in every project. Kevin Skelly is a Certified Green Professional and a Graduate Master Builder with over three decades of industry experience. Living in Santa Fe for more than 30 years, Kevin has developed a love for “Santa Fe style” that incorporates simple lines and reflects the landscape’s natural beauty. Accepting a limited number of projects each year, K.M. Skelly, Inc., is able to build a lasting trust with every client, transforming their visions into reality. As a long-time content contributor to the ATRE radio program, Kevin continues his role in 2025, offering valuable observations on a range of home construction issues.

City of Santa Fe Makes Bold Moves on Midtown, Affordable Housing:

New Mexico’s film industry and affordable housing advocates both have an extra reason to celebrate the New Year: the City’s Midtown District redevelopment effort has advanced, with a unanimous vote to approve the development agreement between the City and Aspect Studios to create a world-class film and multimedia hub. The plan will not only create the largest film studio in the state, but will create commercial spaces, affordable and market-rate housing, and more than 1,000 jobs. The win comes alongside the news that Tierra Contenta, a cornerstone of Santa Fe’s commitment to affordable housing, has begun Phase 3A, which will be managed by Homewise. More than 1,500 additional homes are planned for the new phase.
